Outstanding day for Mesud and Marcus

Wow, what a day for the shot putters today. Marcus Thomsen started out in the morning and threw four throw over 18m and got the bronze medal in the U23 ass with 18.20m. Marcus is not really in that class as he is only 19 years of age and still competes in U20 class. This was as with Jakob yesterday his best meet against international caliber athletes. Marcus has an outdoor PB of 18.26m and an indoor PB of 18.29m so he was very close to beat that today. But his series were great with 18.08, 18.13, 18.20 and 18.15. This was a great meet for Marcus and it was huge to get the medal.

Mesud Pezer that got 7th in the EIC last weekend with a throw of 20.37m did not expects much today. Last practice was slow and around 19m. But, after the warm up of 20.30m or so I was sure he would throw a PB and he did. 20.69m came in the second round and he also had 20.49, 20.27, 20.24 and 20.00. The best thing was that he won the meet and beat a very strong field of throwers. Mesud also qualified for his first World Championships coming up this summer in London.

Big congratulations to both Marcus and Mesud on an outstanding day.
