Fanny wins, Jakob with a new personal best

The European Throwing Cup was held in Las Palmas, Spain this weekend. Fanny Roos won the U23 Shot Put competition with a throw of 17.53m. It is her second best ever meet outdoors as her outdoor PB is 17.58m since last summer. Fanny did not hit the technique well in the meet but won with over a meter. After her outstanding meet in the EIC last week it is hard to come back and do better the week after but still a great meet for Fanny and a gold medal.

Jakob Gardenkrans did outstanding in his first U23 competition against a very strong field of 15 throwers. Jakob ended up in 7th place with a throw of 56.83m and had three throws over 56m. His previous outdoor PB was 53.16m but he threw 55.55m indoors last weekend. This is by far the best meet ever for Jakob against international field of throwers so a huge step forward for him. Jakob is also only around 3m from 60m with the 2kg discus.

Danie Ståhl did everything right in the preparation and looked very good in the warm up throws throwing easy over 65m. Daniel fouled also two or three throws over 65m in the meet and just generally did not hit a legal good throw. Ended up 4th with 61.51m that was way under what was expected. Daniel will come back and learn from this.
