The annual and traditional meet between Sweden and Finland was held this weekend in Tampere, Finland.

Daniel Ståhl and Niklas Arrhenius competed in the meet and performed really well. Daniel kind of blew everyone else away in the discus competition with his first throw of the meet that measured 65.46m. Daniel had great stability in the meet and had four of his six throws around 65m line. Daniel then got third in the shot put with a good performance of 18.90m.

Niklas Arrhenius got third in the discus with 61.55m that was great for him and put the shot 18.98m that was good for second place. Niklas has always done well in the meet and usually gotten valuable points for his country in the tight competition that this meet is. It was the same this year, Niklas pretty much did what was asked of him.

This meet Finnkampen has three participants from each country in each event. It is probably the biggest dual meet in the world and builds on long tradition between these two countries. Sweden won the meet both for men and women this year even though it was not clear until the last events. It is a great meet and very exciting to watch and helps the development of athletics in both countries as it is televised live all day during the weekend it is held.
