Daniel to final
July 7, 2016Daniel Ståhl threw 65.78m in the qualification rounds of the European Championships today in Amsterdam. With that throw Daniel was second overall of the 30 throwers participating. It is his fourth best performance ever and first time he throws 65 meters. He has three meets over 66m and many on 64m but has actually never hit 65m. Daniel fouled the first throw that was about 63.50m and missed the second throw straight up in the air. But the third throw was good and he showed good competition spirit and hit a good throw. Good performance for Daniel and he makes the final for the first time in an EC.
Niklas Arrhenius had 61.63m in the second group of the qualification and ended up in 19th place overall that was better than his SB ranking coming in to the meet. This is his best performance in a championship ever so Niklas should be happy. He was close in the second throw to throw farther but topped the discus a little and did not get it high enough. Still, a great performance for Niklas as well.
