ANALYSIS: Mesud Pezer National Indoor Record 21.15m

Mesud Pezer from Bosnia Herzegovina is a 24 year old shot putter that had his best international success this winter when he got 5th in the World Indoor Championships with a new Bosnian Indoor Record of 21.15m. Mesud has a PB of 21.40m outdoors and holds the Bosnian Outdoor Record as well.

Mesud is a very talented athlete and could be one of these 22m+ guys in the nearest future if he stays healthy and works hard as he has done for the last five years being a part of the GT Group.

This analysis of his 21.15m throw is done by his coach Vésteinn Hafsteinsson.

FRAME 1
1. Good comfortable stance with feet spread apart
2. Comfortable leaning forward with head looking forward
3. Elbow back and long left arm, overall good starting position

FRAME 2
1. Good turn on left foot with strong left hip and left shoulder back
2. Right leg could come a little earlier but still no big problem, good shoulders line
3. Overall Mesud looks comfortable in this position even he could be little bit more back with upper body

FRAME 3
1. Good left side and left hip
2. Elbow can be more back and head little bit more up
3. Right moves the right way with knee going out but could come earlier off

FRAME 4
1. Very nice left arm parallel to the ground
2. Great left knee dropping down
3. Head and shoulder pretty good and back, but right leg too high

FRAME 5
1. Very good left knee drop and strong left hip
2. Right leg coming across, could keep the head little bit more up
3. Left arm goes away, ok if wrap follows

FRAME 6
1. Super good sprint across the circle, active right leg
2. Good square position on shoulders
3. Head up and shot back, overall super good picture

FRAME 7
1. Decent wrap with the left arm
2. Should maybe preturn the right foot more in the air
3. Left leg little late as it looks here, otherwise pretty good

FRAME 8
1. Good drop on right kne and leaning back
2. Left arm wrap good in relation to right elbow
3. Left leg little late

FRAME 9
1. Nice power position with nice feet spreading
2. Chest and head could be little bit more back and upright
3. Then separation would be a little bit better with elbow more back

FRAME 10
1. Good vertical, forward with both legs
2. Good block and extension on the left
3. Head and shot back, with a good vertical line, good picture

FRAME 11
1. Super long finish
2. Good vertical and horizontal speed
3. This is the strongest part of Mesud’s throw

FRAME 12
1. Following through well
2. Landing tall after the reverse and maximizing the speed
3. Big scream. PB Indoors 21.15m, 5th place at WC Indoors
