Great performance for Mesud in Ljungby

Both Fanny Roos and Mesud Pezer did not live up to their potential in the EC final last week. Fanny ended up 11th with 17.09m and Mesud was 12th with 19.91m.

Tonight the competed in Ljungby, Downtown Meet in Sweden. The meet is just a shot put meet for men and women and Ljungby is the place Fanny Roos comes from.

Mesud won the meet with 20.76m that is one of his best meets ever and close to his 20.79m SB since June this summer in Bottnaryd. This was a very positive result for Mesud after some period where he has been struggling.

Fanny threw better than in the EC final but still not so good and got 2nd place with 17.61m. Still, a positive step forward and already tomorrow she is again in action in the Birmingham DL meet in Great Britain. We wish Fanny good luck there and hope she can throw even farther there but her best performance in a DL meet is 18.06m from Rabat earlier on this year.

Both Mesud and Fanny are very talented shot putters and have a great future in front of them if the work hard for the next few years.

European Shot Put Conference takes place in Tallinn, Estonia from 8-10 November 2019 and will be highlighted by lectures and practical demonstrations from some of the most renowned athletes and coaches associated with the event. Click here for programme and registration info.
