Mesud to the final in Berlin

Global Throwing is at European Championships in Berlin. Today was held the shot put qualification on the streets of Berlin - huge arena was set up next Kaiser-Wilhelm Church and there were a lot people who cheered for everybody.

Mesud Pezer was in the first qualification group and threw 20.16m, that gave him 7th position overall in 2 groups. Mesud also had 19.59m and 19.96m that would have secured the spot on the final.

Marcus Thomsen was the youngest shot putter today in the circle - he started with 19.44m, then 19.59m and 19.58m. Very strong meet for the young Norwegian. 19.59m was enough for 16th position, but the final was just 11cm away. Very strong competition for Marcus at his first major championships.

Final will be held tomorrow evening at Berlin Olympic Stadium.
