Marcus Norwegian Champion

Marcus Thomsen competed this weekend in the Norwegian Championships and did absolutely outstanding. It was his first meet this summer with the 7.26kg but he had 18.29m earlier this year indoors with that implement. But now Marcus threw a huge 19.40m and his shortest throw was 18.33m. So, over one meter PB and a big win and the farthest throw in the Norwegian Championships since 2001.

This season so far has been great for Marcus and he has pretty much won everything. The biggest win came of course when he was the European U20 Champion earlier this year in Grosseto in Italy when he threw the 6kg shot 21.36m.

The future is sure bright for the 19 year old Norwegian. His goal is to break the Norwegian record in shot put that is since 1986 and stand at 21.22m. It looks like it could be done within 3-4 years if everything goes well.

Congratulations to Marcus from us all. OUTSTANDING.
