Marcus European Junior Champion

Today in Grosseto in Italy Marcus Thomsen NOR won the God Medal in shot put in the class U20 at the European Junior Championships.

It is a huge win for Marcus and not only that, he also threw a new personal record of 21.36m that is a new Norwegian junior record as well as he got the world lead again. Marcus came into the meet with the second best result and lived up to by taking home the win in the second throw.

Marcus Thomsen has had a great year so far. He works hard and has developed physically and technically but the biggest difference is the mental development. He has turned into being a great competitor and better when there are bigger meets.

This was a big win for Marcus and also for throwing in Norway and particularly to the event shot put. A new Champion has come up in shot put in Norway and that is about time as the event has been weak for many years until Marcus steps forward now as the best junior in Europe.

We all Congratulate Marcus on his big win today.
