Marcus throws a World Junior Lead

Before this year Marcus Thomsen NOR had a PB of 20.30m indoors last year and 20.23m outdoors with the 6kg ball. He did not manage to improve his best indoors this winter even if he did well with the 7.26kg shot and threw 18.29m.

So far this outdoor season Marcus has been outstanding. First meet was 20.19m, and then he hit a huge PB in Halle and had 20.73m. Last week he had 20.27m and had a big throw around 21.50m that he fouled barely.

Today was his big day so far when he improved his PB three times, first to 20.90m, then to 20.96m and then in the 5th round Marcus bombed one out there on 21.32m. Absolutely outstanding performance and a World Junior leading throw in the age group of 19 year olds.

The best thing about this is that there is more coming I think as he had his best practice so far this week and we are going to get some more explosion and speed in the next few weeks. Very exciting times for the young Norwegian.

Congratulations to Marcus.
