Niklas Arrhenius had his last meet of the season today in Stockholm, Sweden. It was the Swedish Team Cup and Niklas won both shot and discus for his club Spårvägen.
Niklas started today with the discus and threw 63.12m. It is his second best meet this season after 63.87m in the Swedish Championships one week ago. This is another level than Niklas has been on before in closed stadiums without any favorable winds etc. He has thrown these two meets over 63m as well as 61.60m in Bedford, GBR as well as 62.26m in Helsinki, Finland some days ago.
Niklas followed up the discus by winning the shot with a throw of 18.95m. That was a little under his level but he felt tired in the shot after many competitions lately. He has been doubling up lately in the Swedish Championships, Finnkampen and the club meet today throwing both events for his club and country and winning every time.
Now, Niklas will fly over to his home in Utah, USA tomorrow and meet with his wife and kids and relax for some weeks before he starts on his preparation for 2011 season that will be very exciting. He can be very happy with this season and has proved that he is going into being a world class thrower in both shot and discus.
