Another tough night

Gerd Kanter was 5th tonight in the DL meet in Zurich and did only throw 65.20m. Gerd could not follow up on his wins in Monaco, 67.81m and in London, 67.82m.

Gerd had serious technical problems tonight and just never got into the meet. Similar to the EC in Barcelona, actually.

What Gerd can do is to learn from this season and take on to the next one and try to do better. It has been a tough season, still with lot of positive things as well.

Märt Israel was sick in his stomach the night before the meet and lacked energy and ended 9th with a throw of 62.64m. Märt was close to throw farther but could not follow up on his great throwing in Bedford some days ago.

I am proud to have both of these guys in this meet fighting for the DL. Even if it did not go tonight we go on and do better next time.

Märt will throw in Berlin in three days but it is unclear if Gerd will throw more. This season is coming to an end for both of them.

Märt had his breakthrough season and should be happy. Gerd had a tough season as I said before but can still take some things with him for next season and do better.
