Niklas is doing well

Niklas Arrhenius had a great meet at Karlstad in Sweden tonight when he put the shot 19.61m for another PR outdoors this season. Niklas that took up rotational shot putting again this year after a long layoff due to injuries.

He improved his best mark outdoors last week in Bottnaryd with a throw of 19.39m. Then he had 19.25m at Öresundsspelen on Sunday to follow up with this great performance tonight.

The meet was a shot put show called Skanska Open the day before the Karlstad Grand Prix that will be held tomorrow. Then the shot putters will compete again.

Niklas can throw much farther than this and I am sure that 20m will go soon. It is great for Niklas to get this along with his great discus development that made him qualify last week with a throw of 62.23m. There is much more to come there also and hopefully he will be nominated tomorrow for the European Championships by the Swedish Federation.

Kim Christensen also did well tonight and got his second best meet of the year. 19.34m is ok for Kim but there is much more to come from him also as he did 20.07m in practice last week. Then he had a very bad meet in Helsingborg with only 18.47m but got back to his level today that is very good. Kim is already qualified for the European Championships.

Leif Arrhenius Niklas little brother that has been training with us lately threw a PR also tonight with 18.86m, also very good for him.

So, a very good day for the guys and hopefully more coming tomorrow.
