Recently one of the best Shot Putter ever retired, the ‘’The Danish Dynamite’’ Joachim B. Olsen.
.
I had the opportunity to work with
him for three years from 2003-2006. During that time he won these medals:
World Indoor Championships Bronze and Olympic Games Bronze in 2004.
European Indoor Championships Gold in 2005.
World Indoor Championships Bronze and European Championships Bronze in 2006.
During this time he was ranked number one in the world by the IAAF ranking system almost the whole time. He threw 21.63m the farthest during this period that ended up being his farthest throw ever.
Totally, during his career Joachim won eight championships medals. Beyond the time he worked with me he got two medals in 2002 in the European Indoor as well as Outdoor Championships. And one in 2007 in the European Indoor Championships.
I learned a lot as a coach from Joachim and I only have good words to say about him now after his career. A smart guy with great competition mind and a good training spirit. We had lot of fun together and we spend so much time together as he trained so hard during this time. Joachim will be missed from the Shot Put circle but here are some good memories from our great years together.
Thanks for the great times Joachim.
